Justin Jach works through the mediums of film, video, photography, illustration, painting, and dabbles in web design.

He has worked with a range of subject matter, focusing on modes of communication, whether they be societal, personal, or political. Justin also strives to be active politically, socially, and connected to his community through his art.

In the spring of 2008 Justin studied filmmaking in Quito, Ecuador. While there he was able to contact british author and designer, Tristan Manco, author of "Graffiti Brasil". With the help of Tristan, Justin found Galería Choque Cultural, Galería Livraría Pop, and a slew of other graffiti artists through fotolog and flickr.

After his time in Ecuador, Justin spent a month in São Paulo, Brasil filming with the artists as they painted. Once he returned to the states his project began to take shape through investigations into the writings of Sergei Eisenstein, montage documentary (From Beyrouth with Love by Waël Noureddine), and documentary film (Inside Outside). In the spring of 2009 A Series of Exchanges was premeired on the walls of Champaign-Urbana via a mobile-video-projection-unit Justin constructed. The MVPU was similar in design to the laser tagging system of Graffiti Research Lab and allowed the film to be projected onto the sides of buildings. This method of presentation allowed the video to follow the maxims of street art and put up something beautiful and free for passerbys to enjoy.

Currently Justin resides in Chicago as a freelance videographer and is applying for a scholarship to return to Brasil and make a full-length documentary on Brasilian graffiti culture.
